S.M.A.R.T.
S.M.A.R.T.
  • Deep understanding of S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology), doesn't just show you numbers.
  • Supports SSDs and shows the remaining lifetime % for some models.
  • Identifies your hard disk from hundreds of known "model groups". Each group interprets the health data in its own specific way. Your analysis is tailored to your drive type and is more accurate.
  • Detects problems leading to data loss, before the drive reports total failure. Looks for known markers for your model that can indicate problems.
  • Interprets and explains the data in plain english.
Direct I/O
Direct I/O
  • Reads more than just the basic S.M.A.R.T. data that is available from the operating system.
  • Reads the S.M.A.R.T. error log, which contains more information about recent errors that the drive experienced.
  • Gets the full drive identification information directly from the drive, which includes the serial number, firmware and many other things. BitFlock uses this to find the correct model group for your drive and to decide how to talk to it.
USB
USB
  • Identifies the USB enclosure manufacturer and uses manufacturer specific commands to get through to the disk.
  • Supports multiple manufacturers, so it can get through to more drives.
  • For multi-drive USB enclosures, communicates with the correct disk automatically.
Cloud
Cloud Based
  • Always up to date S.M.A.R.T. interpretation data. BitFlock's model groups are being updated all the time as a result of incoming user data. This give more accurate test results as people add more nests.
  • USB methods are cloud driven. BitFlock identifies your USB enclosure manufacturer, asks the cloud if it has ever seen it before and how to talk to it. This means better USB support over time.
  • Universal access. Come back to see your nest later, or update your nest at any time.
  • Anonymous and secure no signup technology means you don't need to remember another password.
  • Name your nest, or add to the same nest from a different computer. It's optional and you'll need to set up a password for this.
